Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's Art for Ashes: Upcyling for the Good
In May 2009, the Jesusita Fire devastated parts of Santa Barbara: 80 homes were destroyed and 8700 acres were burned by the fire. In the months that followed, Art from Ashes along with 50 artists, visited the Botanic Garden, pulled scraps from burnt out buildings, cars and trucks, salvaged trees and twigs to create over 100 pieces of unique, one-of-a-kind art.
